C&C Triathlete Factory: gonna make you sweat! Spring Tri Camp

When?

Friday April 18 through Sunday April 20.

Who?

This weekend camp is for novice and intermediate triathletes led by elite age group triathletes Chris Sweet and Chris Daniels. The camp will be capped at 45 participants. We are anticipating the camp filling (our water bottles are always half-full!) so register early!

Where?

The camp will be held at Camp Wokanda North of Peoria IL

What's Included?

All lodging and meals are included in the cost of the camp! You'll be staying in bunk-style cabins (think summer camp!). The cabins are rustic, but Camp Wokonda has very nice new shower/restroom facilities.

2 1/2 days of group workouts to jump-start your tri-season. Accomodations will be made for a variety of paces. The camp will be a good mix of hard training sessions and easy technique-based workouts. (See schedule for more details).

Seminars and lectures between workouts.

Total Immersion© style swim clinic (note: instructors are not certified by Total Immersion)

Video tape swim stroke analysis.

Swim sessions will be in the new Pearce Community Center Pool in Chillicothe:

Opportunity to train on the IHSA state meet XC course at Detweiller Park.

Nutrition for the camp will be provided by Hammer Nutrition!!!

Bike fit consultations by certified bike fitter

Licensed massage therapist available between workouts

Why?

First off, because we wanted to offer Midwest triathletes a spring training camp that didn't require purchasing a plane ticket to get to. Second, Chris and Chris are both working stiffs with kids and we plan to use any proceeds from the camp to help offset the substantial costs of travelling to Kona for the Ironman World Championships.

Also, our first attempt at fundraising by becoming professional hula dancers failed miserably, so we thought we try another route!

How Much is this gonna cost me?

The entire camp -lodging and meals included- is only $200 ($50 discount for full-time students). Our lodging isn't five-star, but it helps keep the costs down. Please look around and compare, many weekend Tri camps charge twice this amount and DON'T include lodging.

What do I need to Bring?

Bike, helmet, shoes, bike clothing, water bottles
Running shoes and clothing
Rain gear for biking and running
Swim gear
Pillow & Sleeping Bag
Yoga/Workout mat (if you have one)
Bike stationary trainer (if you have one)
Toiletries
Couple of Towels

*Note: Alcohol is not allowed at Camp Wokonda. This rule will be enforced- let's respect the camp rules.

**You will also need transportion for you and your bike to and from some of the workouts- grouping up is encouraged!

Registration

To register for C&C Triathlete Factory Camp just fill out this

REGISTRATION FORM.

Space is limited- register early! If necessary, we will start a waiting list.

F.A.Q.

Q: Can I come to the camp, but then just go into Peoria and sleep at the Marriott? (or go home and sleep?)

A: We'd prefer that everyone stay at camp to promote a team-like atmosphere, but understand if people that live close want to sleep at home. In any case, we didn't schedule a whole lot of time for sleeping anyway so do you really want to cut into that more?!

Q: What if I don't have a bike trainer?

A: Just let us know and we'll find you one!

Q: Is this camp only for Ironman triathletes?

A: This camp is for pretty much anyone that has ever finished a triathlon. If you are brand new to the sport, contact us first. Accomodations will be made for different paces.

Q: In the evening can I drive across the river to gamble at the Paradise Casino?

A: Only if you split any winnings with the camp leaders.

Q: A tri camp in Illinois in April? Are you guys nuts?

A: Hey, we can't all afford to fly to Cancun to get in some spring training. If it rains we will ride trainers inside. We'll run in the rain, of course.
